MotoGP unites to help Japan


The MotoGP community has moved to do all it can to support those in Japan following the recent earthquake and its after-effects, and the 17 riders in MotoGP have put their signatures on a specially printed shirt with the message “We are for Japan”.

The t-shirt will be available at a range of circuits on the World Championship calendar, as well as being available from the MotoGP official website at weforjapan.motogp.com. It can be purchased for €20.
The funds collected through this initiative will be presented to a humanitarian organisation during the Japan Grand Prix, which is scheduled to take place on October 2nd.

Jorge Lorenzo: “We must give our maximum support to Japan at a moment such as this. Japan is already a strong country that has always demonstrated its ability to overcome adversity. A strong embrace to all Japanese people and fans of motorcycling who live there.”
Casey Stoner: “We considered the floods in Australia at the beginning of the year a huge disaster, but after the events we’ve seen in Japan – it’s beyond what we can comprehend. Having heard some of the stories from colleagues in Honda and seeing the coverage on the news, it’s devastating to hear what they are going through and our hearts and thoughts are with everyone in Japan. I hope they can find the courage to keep fighting and get through this period to help rebuild their lives”.

KTM 1190 RC8 Superbike Unveiled

Milan premieres continue to roll with the introduction of the KTM 1190 RC8. According to KTM, this lightweight superbike pumps out 155 horsepower and weighs 440 pounds with a full tank of gas. Enjoy these images of the new RC8, and take a look at KTM’s announcement below for more details.


KTM, the leader in the production of sports motorcycles celebrates a milestone in the company history with the world premiere of the first ever “Made in Austria” Superbike, the KTM 1190 RC8 at EICMA, the most important international motorcycle fair.
KTM CEO Stefan Pierer unveiled the 1190 RC8 on Tuesday, November 6 at 13.00 hours to herald a new era in the company history. KTM presented the series version of the most elaborate development project ever undertaken by the company, which is at the same time the most powerful series motorcycle ever developed in Austria.
“The RC8 is the perfect embodiment of the collective know-how and the sporting passion of our development teams. In addition, they have proven that KTM is capable of pushing through its own model strategy and in doing so, being absolutely true to our clear brand philosophy, also on the road,” Pierer commented when introducing the RC8 at the Milan fair.
The world’s leading manufacturer of offroad bikes has already proved itself with its innovations and has also caused a sensation with its outstandingly dynamic factory riders on the road racing circuit. Now KTM takes another crucial step towards having a complete range of unmistakable sports machines.

At the very heart of the 1190 RC8 is the completely newly developed super sporty two-cylinder based on the well known LC8 range of engines, which, with a top performance of 155 hp and a maximum amount of torque of 120 Nm delivers an overwhelming amount of power to the rider. A unique light tubular steel frame, highest quality suspension and brake components and unusual technical solutions such as the exhaust positioned under the bike complete the 1190 RC8, which weighs just 200kg with a full tank. The result is a Superbike that truly lives up to its name in every sense of the word.

No one would classify a Shoei helmets cheap motorcycle helmets, but that does not mean you do not care about getting good value for your dollar. Good news about the Shoei helmet you know that you will never lack in the quality. Shoei helmets are some of the best in the industry and better than other brands which many believe can walk on water.
I recently had a chance to road test the Shoei RF-1000 motorcycle helmet and this is what I found. You decide for yourself if the Shoei helmet is right for you.
Shoei is recognized their use Advanced Integrated Matrix build the outer shell is very strong but lightweight helmet produce. The reason is obvious, but like a good helmet, they want to protect your scalp in the event of an accident. Shoei helmets are tested in wind tunnels and therefore they are very angle and is designed to cut the wind well. A quick road test and you can immediately tell that this is a very comfortable motorcycle helmet that has a few flaws and works well.
Another great feature I noticed was that the Shoei RF-1000 is a very comfortable helmet, which is good, because the helmet is a comfortable helmet that you wear. Shoei Sports removable cheek pads and chin strap covers are available in various sizes so you can customize according to your specific needs or likes. This layer is designed to keep air flowing over your head out of the vents in front and then rear exhaust ports. Better airflow in my opinion and Shoei RF1000 does not disappoint.

Finally, you can not go wrong with a Shoei motorcycle helmet. I already have several of them in recent years and I never disappointed and I’m not sure you will direct. Designed to dominate any terrain, the sharp-handling Yamaha Raptor 700R SE draws jaw dropping power from a 686cc liquid cooled engine. The Raptor 700 R SE adds a few special touches to the already class leading Raptor. A custom Black and Red colour scheme and super high performance piggy-back clicker shocks with high and low speed compression damping adjustment.



The features and benefits:

= The 686cc Fuel Injected SOHC 4-valve single is a high torque monster that's so smooth, you may find yourself using fewer gears to go from corner to corner. With a focus on low to mid-range power, and incredible throttle response, you don't have to worry about always keeping the engine in the power band, Instead… just stab the throttle and feel it pull.

The YFM700R starter button opens a door into a whole new ATV landscape of high-traction discovery. This isn't just the biggest-engined Yamaha ATV, it's also one of the most exciting.



There are three main factors contributing to YFM700R's exceptionally ride characteristics. First, the hybrid aluminium/steel sports chassis, which makes it the lightest ATV in its class. Then there's the highly absorbent, fully adjustable long-travel suspension front and rear for precise handling and energy-saving comfort on long rapid trail rides.



And finally of course there's the mighty 686cc engine, the YFM700R's smoothly pounding heart. This single-cylinder powerhouse is the ultimate expression of Yamaha's four-stroke engineering expertise. High torque and big-bore power gives the 700R terrain-conquering ability irrespective of whether it's on the flat, a loose incline or across rocky slopes. The features and benefits:

The 686cc Fuel Injected SOHC 4-valve single is a high torque monster that's so smooth, you may find yourself using fewer gears to go from corner to corner.

YFI means no choke and easier cold starting.



A forged piston for reduced weight and added durability, combined with an aluminum cylinder body with composite coating offers reduced weight, increased cooling ability and additional wear resistance.

Roller rocker arms reduce friction in the valve train, which allows the engine to rev more freely leading to better overall performance and improved throttle response.



The frame of the Raptor 700R will also turn heads thanks to its hybrid design. High-tensile steel marries with a cast aluminum frame up front, while the rear frame is die-cast aluminum. This design ensures the Raptor stays compact and light weight while reducing vibration and ensuring optimum rigidity.



The double-wishbone front A-arms feature reduced weight and increased strength thanks to the use of aluminum, square-shaped tubes of the upper arms and steel lower arms.

The front shock absorber incorporates a oil damper, adding to the optimum suspension set up.



The one piece aluminum die-cast rear swing arm offers superior rear wheel traction, reduced weight and added comfort for the rider.

Not that you'll want to stop once you get a taste of the Raptor 700R, but it's worth noting that the braking system is ready, willing and definitely able to stop you in your tracks. The hydraulic front brakes get YFZ-type twin piston front calipers while the rear disc size is reduced for lighter weight. The new system provides plenty of stopping power regardless of the terrain you're traversing.



The popular toggle link-type parking brake lever returns for 2008 with the auto-adjust feature that keeps maintenance to a minimum.

The power of the Raptor 700R is put to the ground via a set of front and rear Dunlop radials. This design offers improved cornering and added comfort to riders under a bevy of conditions.

The tires are mounted on aluminum rims, which include a rolled edge for added durability.

The Raptor incorporates a YFZ-style headlight, integrated LED tail light and YZ-style seat, which helps to improve rider mobility and comfort under all riding conditions.
