Wow!  Speaks for itself!  I'm out of town and just checking in and this is too good to pass up.  Ola,again from Montreal I thought you might get a kick out of an old winter project of mine;A buddy dropped off an XL250 (that I quickly took the motor out of & gave away the rest). I happened to have an extra frame from a Z50 hanging around. The motor has a performance cam (because you can't go

Triumph Recalls 2010 GT and ST Motorcycles for Incorrect Dipstick Length

Triumph is recalling certain model year 2010 GT and ST motorcycles.

The plug/dipstick is of an incorrect length. As a result, the accuracy of the dipstick for measuring adequate levels of oil may be compromised and adequate oil levels may not be maintained.

The number of units affected is 216.

"2011 KTM 250 and 350 XC-F"

2011 KTM XC-F Wanting to expand on its cross-country racing offerings, KTM released the 250 and 350 XC-F motorcycles for 2011.

The KTM XC F models, which will be available in January, are based on the 250 and 350 SX-F motorcycles, but are designed with components to enhance cross-country racing, especially the AMA GNCC series.

The 250 and 350 XC-F feature SX-F style frames, including linkage rear suspension and the most current generation SX-F engine including EFI and electric start.

KTM says both XC-F motorcycles will have a 6-speed transmission, an 18" rear wheel, open hand guards and a side stand. Both models will also receive the larger 2.51 gallon off-road tank compared to the 1.98 gallon tank on the SX-F models.

The XC-F models were released last Friday during a press launch at Cahuilla Creek MX Park.

The off-road motorcycles were introduced to the public by the Factory FMF/KTM GNCC Team of Kailub Russell, Cory Buttrick and Charlie Mullins.

All three riders will be racing the 350 XC-F in the 2011 GNCC Series.

I'm lifting this post straight out of The ADV rider thread I saw it in.  Too good to let it pass.  Thanks 1upand4down.In 1973 my dad bought this 900 Z1 new. I was 16 years old and he would letme ride it. He had other Kaw's he would let me ride like a 69 and 71 500 H1's.But there was nothing like the Super four 900. He sold the Z1 in 1975 to a friend of mine brother-in-law and he sold to his

Back to or regularly scheduled programming...

I suppose I need to find ways to backup my entire blog (YEARS worth).  I don't see  way to get all the images I have stored on Picassa backed up in total and in order so I'm going to have to trust to the gods on that one.It this blog does in fact disappear I WILL RETURN in some capacity (and likely with a slightly altered name) but it will likely be on another blog host like wordpress or tumbler

Sorry for the inconvenience. I blame Google. Continuous Update!

Well according to my site meter it started at 5 am and ended this morning when I logged in.   2nd update:  Apparently I'm one of the lucky ones.  According to this some folks have lost their blogs completely and since they are legitimate businesses they have lost significant revenue for the holidays!  Poor bastards.http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/blogger/thread?tid=5161eccac29c1be8&fid=

Thought I'd pass along a recent e-mail I received to those of you who might be curious about the state of the high end vintage motorcycle market (and those of you who don't follow the Vintegent :-) ).  I was fortunate enough to get on the Bonhams Auction House mailing list  recently and just received this message (below) that touches on that very subject. In a nutshell business appears to be

motorsport modification | motorcycle news update | new motor bikes |Honda CBR250R prices out in the USA <!--5b8d6fba64e441acb692e8605eadc132-->

In earlier news reported about the CBR250R by Honda, there were speculations that in India it would be priced around Rs 1.5 lakh. But,these were all just speculations as the company hadn’t confirmed on any pricing. It seems though that the US markets are the first to get the pricing fixed for this new 250cc liquid cooled single cylinder bike. The sticker price for the bike in America is a $3999 (approx Rs 1,80,000) for the standard version and $4499 (approx Rs 200,000) for the ABS version.
Now, though these are US market prices, we are all aware that for the Indian markets, Honda will have to do some  localization on the parts to keep the pricing in the much competitive Rs 1.5 lakh bracket. If Honda manages to keep this pricing, we are sure all the other bikes in the 250cc range will be ready to see some competition.

With the occasion of promoting the BMW S1000 RR sport bike, the manufacturer decided to try something different than the usual commercial, especially considering how technology has evolved. For this reason, the Serviceplan company was chosen to add some subliminal advertising to the clip. See bellow the explanation and full ad.

BMW S 1000 RR
BMW S 1000 RR

The Munich-based company used what’s known as an after-image to print the BMW logo on the eyes of the audience that attended the experiment but the logo wasn’t visible on the screen and couldn’t be seen until Ruben Xaus, the star of the clip, gave the magic command “Close your eyes”. When the members of the audience closed their eyes, the logo instantly appeared to everyone’s amazement.
A lot of positive feedback was provided at the end of the screening and this may be an interesting way of promoting something without actually showing any logos. It will be interesting to see if BMW will integrate this in further screenings.
See bellow the same ad, but bear in mind the fact that it was screened in a cinema so you may not experience the same effect as those who whitnessed it firsthand.

The TAFFYMOTO built "Black Pearl" CRF450R Supermoto.

I don't post a lot of Supermoto's on here. That's not a prejudice on my par cause I absolutely love them and am in the process of converting my DR650 over. But this bike is so freaking nice that I can't pass it by. It fairly legendary in the SM world. It's know as the "Black Pearl". If you're interested in more about the bike there's a good thread on it over on Supermotojunkie.com  This is
